C. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENTATION GALLERY TUTORIAL KIT

Finally, the Presentation Gallery app. implements a classic Picture Gallery. However, in order to implement it, we had to bend a little our strict rules about using only CSS code in our apps. We had to use a few JavaScript functions, though the entire JS code (very small and very simple) is commented/explained line by line.

The Presentation Gallery application comes in 4 versions, each implementing additional functionality, from simple to complex. The cherry on the cake is the fact that the entire CSS/JS/HTML code is explained in minute details in our pdf Tutorial Kit, plus as comments added on each line of code.

PA1 - JavaScript code

Presentation Gallery version1

Version one of PG (file Presentation_Gallery1.html) implements a "classic" manual-action Presentatio Gallery, as it can be seen in the picture on right (the picture presents file Presentation_Gallery1.html running).

Particular to this first version is the fact that the entire HTML, CSS, and JS code is explained in details. Subsequent versions highlight only the new additions and/or changes

PG1 is a compact component easy to integrate in any site. This type of a gallery is the most common on the Internet, therefore is is a real treat to know what it takes (in sharp details) to empower it.
Presentation Gallery version2

Version two of PG (file Presentation_Gallery2.htm), comes with a picture caption. This new component is a nice treat if you intend to add a few explanatory words to your favorite pictures.

Note that the caption bar may be positioned anywhere, even outside the picture area.
Presentation Gallery version3

Version 3 (file Presentation_Gallery3.html) implements the image-indexes mechanism. This is a complete module allowing for direct images navigation on mouse-click.

This new feature is another greatly needed component when working with Presentation Galleries. It shows at a glance how many pictures are in the entire set, in addition to the index-position of each picture.

Presentation Gallery version4

Finally, Presentation_Gallery4.html implements both previous mechanisms. We have there the image-indexes plus the image-caption, all working professionally, without a glitch.

Note that our Presentation Gallery has been tested on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer: it works seamlessly in any of them!

Now, we provide here the (very cheap) means you need to work with; what follows next is your decision.
